The Swimsuit Edition Blog Tour

June 29, 2017 in blog tour by Jessica Pierce

Swimsuit Edition Blog TourWelcome to The Swimsuit Edition Tour hosted by Lulu and Celeste and Sprouting Jube Jube Productions!

5oo4 Swimsuit Edition Blog TourI love sewing swimwear.  I love finding funky swim fabrics that reflect my girls’ personalities (and my own!).   I love being able to make something to their specific sizes instead of relying on a straight size 6…when in reality my 8yo daughter has measurements that are all over the place!  And, honestly, I hate shopping…ESPECIALLY shopping with people who enjoy shopping.  My 8yo would love to go to the mall and slowly meander through every shop.  This is one of the rings of hell for me.  I love spending time with her, but I loathe shopping.  So–if I can find super fun fabric and sew up something that she likes?? WIN WIN!

This year, I decided to respond to my husband’s requests for a swimsuit too.  He wasn’t about to let me try some European shortie swim trunks. 😉 He wanted the typical elastic-waist swim trunks made from  boardshort material.  This endeavor made me realize that I really need to sew up something for my son too, so I need to get to work on a matching boys’ pattern for swim trunks! Boardshort material can be found at The Fabric Fairy, BWD Fabrics, Zenith & Quasar, Water Tower Textiles (Canada), and Raspberry Creek Fabrics.  It is fairly straightforward to sew with and the Men’s Swim Trunks pattern comes together pretty quickly.  I used the Dri-fit Mesh from The Fabric Fairy as the lining for my husband’s swim trunks.  It worked perfectly.Girls Agility Riptide and Mens Swim Trunks

My daughter is wearing the Girls’ Reversible Riptide Shorties and the bra portion of the Girls’ Agility Tank and Dress.  Both of these patterns are available for women AND kids.

I love designing patterns for active men, women, and kids!  My kids never stop moving and being comfortable so I can chase them is one of my goals.

I’d like to try the Versatility Tank & Pants. I sewed the pajama pants pattern for my grandsons and it is perfect for boys who are too big for boys patterns and not big enough for men’s. The pants fit well and my grandsons loved them.

I love your patterns. Let’s see I got the men’s board shorts pattern and I use the shenanigans skort as my swim suit bottoms so the next one I’d lie to try is the Escape top and dress

I really want to try the riptide shorties. I sort of winged a pair for my daughter, and was kicking myself for not having the pattern on hand.
