Let’s get right to today’s patterns:
Women’s Virginia Tank & Maxi
I don’t always love to wear dresses, but when I do…I wear the Virginia. It can be both sporty and beautiful depending on my mood. I can pair it with sneakers, heels, or flip-flops.
Here are the details:
The Women’s Virginia Tank & Maxi is a PDF sewing pattern, not a finished product. This pattern can be made as a dress or as separates.
Options Include:
- Tank top with optional built-in bra
- Separate full bust adjustment (FBA) pattern pieces for the tank and bra
- Knee length or Maxi length skirt
- Skirt can be made from woven or knit fabric
- Tank top has two neckline options in the front and two neckline options in the back
- Dress can be made with knit waistband or elastic casing
- Maternity option
- Pockets!
- Sizes XXS-5XL
Fabric Talk:
This pattern requires light to medium weight fabric with at least 25% stretch. Lycra will help a garment hold its
shape. Cotton lycra, jersey, brushed poly, ITY, or rayon spandex blends will all work well for the main parts of
this pattern. Nylon, Polyester, or Cotton lycra with good recovery and 50% stretch is required for the bands for
the tank and the waistband of the skirt (or dress option with a waistband). Please ensure that your bands have
excellent recovery! In addition, the skirt may be made with woven fabric.
For the Maternity Tank, I highly recommend using a fabric with 50% 4-way stretch so it is long enough to cover
your bump!
Measurements are based on 55-60” knit fabric width and in yards.
Fortunately Sly Fox Fabric has you covered!
These are just a few options

- Knee length or Maxi length skirt
- Skirt can be made from woven or knit fabric
- Tank top has two neckline options
- Dress can be made with knit waistband or elastic casing
- Pockets!
