Let’s get right to today’s patterns:
Rosanna Tank, Tankini, Swim Dress & Dress
Rosanna is a lovely sew and brings all the compliments with it!
Here are the details:
Rosanna is a peplum tank, tankini, dress and swim dress. It features unique side princess seaming, a low ballerina back (with optional back straps), FBA bodice and an optional built-in bra with 6 sewing cup sizes. Choose either a full or half circle skirt with a peplum (tankini), swim dress, short dress or long dress lengths.
Options Include:
- Regular Bodice and 1″ FBA Bodice pieces.
- Peplum, Swim Dress, Short or Long Full Circle Skirt Lengths.
- Finish arms and neckline with binding, bands or elastic.
- Thin or thick back strap and basic instructions that you can use for infinite creative backs.
- 2 Neckline Options: High or Low Scoop
- Sizing from XXS-5XL
Fabric Talk:
Bodice requires a fabric with 4-way stretch of at least 50% both horizontally and vertically.
Look for fabrics with’Lycra’ or ‘spandex’ in the fabric content. Cotton Lycra, brushed poly, nylon spandex swim and heavier bamboo
spandex are all good choices. Fabrics with a higher stretch percentage (75% or more) are not recommended, but
will work with modifications.
You *may* want to size down if using swim.
Always make your muslin in a similarfabric as your final garment.
Skirts require a 2-way knit fabric with at least 30% horizontal stretch.
Fabric choicewill impact how your skirt looks in a big way. Light to medium weight fabrics (brushed poly, bamboo lycra, lighter
jersey) will drape and lay closer to your body. Heavier weight fabrics with more structure (ponte, scuba, liverpool)
will flare out more from your body, also making the skirt appear shorter. Knits with a higher amount of vertical
stretch may need elastic in the waist seam for stablity. Any knit that meets the stretch requirement will work, but
may not give the same results.
Bands and bindings require a fabric with AT LEAST 50% stretch and MUST CONTAIN at least 5% Lycra/
spandex for good recovery. Yardage is calculated using 60″ wide knit fabric.

Fabric Talk:
This pattern requires a 2-way or 4-way light to medium weight knit fabric with at least 50% horizontal stretch
and good recovery. Look for fabrics with ‘Lycra’ or ‘spandex’ in the fabric content. Lighter cotton Lycras, rayon
spandex, brushed poly, rayon french terry and bamboo spandex are all good choices. Knits with a higher amount
of vertical stretch may need elastic in the waist seam for stablity.
Any knit that meets the stretch requirement will work, but may not give the same results.
Bands and bindings require a fabric with AT LEAST 50% stretch and MUST CONTAIN at least 5% Lycra/
spandex for good recovery. Measurements are based on 56” knit fabric width and in yards. Extra fabric may be
required to match patterns or stripes or if you need additional length.
You may need less yardage for smaller size bodices using non-directional fabric.
