Kids’ Swim Trunks

It’s a truth universally known that the more clothing you have on, the less sunscreen you have to wear.  At least, that’s what my daughters tell me.  That’s why the boys’ swim trunks became the kids’ swim trunks and that made my 6-year-old girls happy.

The Kids’ Swim Trunks include:

• Medium rise – this will hit about 1.5″ below the child’s navel
• Optional:
  • On-seam hand pockets
  • Liner
  • Drawstring
• Two lengths – the shorts will hit right at the knees or a few inches above the knees
• Matching swim trunks for the men in your life or board shorts for the women in your life!

8.5×11, A4 (typically outside of the US), Projector, and A0 formats are included for the pattern pieces.  Please remember to NOT use the A4 pattern unless you are located outside of the US and own an A4 printer and A4 paper.  The A0 pattern is for large format printing.  You have permission from 5 out of 4 Patterns to have this pattern printed at your local copy shop.

The separate tutorial download includes hyperlinks to help you navigate to whichever options you’re interested in doing.  It also includes professionally drawn images for each tutorial step as well as pictures for steps that might be a little tricky.  We take great pains to make the tutorial as clear as possible!  We’ve even included links to our YouTube channel, where you can find video tutorials on certain steps.

The Kids’ Swim Trunks PDF sewing pattern is available for sizes 0-3m through 14.  The last image shows the size chart and fabric requirements.
