This week, I talked about books that I’m reading or trying to buy from an Audible sale and I bring up retreat planning! That’s right! I’ve started looking into venues for a 5oo4 retreat. Woohoo!
The books I mention are 3 Day Effect by Florence Williams and It’s Not What It Looks Like by Molly Burke. (The Burke book is one of this month’s free selections if you’re an Audible user.) I loved 3 Day Effect right off the bat and highly recommend listening to it. As for It’s Not What It Looks Like, I didn’t think it was going to by my cup of tea in the beginning, but I’m SO glad I kept listening! Now I’m encouraging my daughters to listen as well. The book is SO inspiring and I learned so much about living with a disability. I really liked her openness about her struggles with her mental health. She talks about suicidal thoughts, so please listen before you share it with your children to make sure you think it’s a safe listen!
