Raspberry Creek Fabrics Swim Tour

March 10, 2019 in Fabric by Jessica Pierce

Welcome to the 5 out of 4 Patterns stop on the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Swim Tour!  I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and I hope you love what you see.

I could have titled this post, “This is Forty.”  My birthday was Friday, March 8th, and I celebrated by watching one of my girls do what they love….gymnastics. 🙂 BUT–after the gymnastics meet, we drove up to Lake Nantahala in the Smoky Mountains.  I don’t recommend driving up here late at night in the rain! haha  The switchbacks in the fog and rain are a little more challenging than I’d like for a future birthday, but the house we rented is lovely and being on the lake is serene (even when you have all the kids with you).

For my stop on the tour, I chose the circus floral and the orange dot for my fabrics.  Orange is my favorite color, so as soon as I saw that it was an option, I had to pounce on it!  The fabrics are very smooth and a nice medium weight, so very easy to sew with on both my sewing machine and my serger.  I sew up a lot of swimsuits and appreciate swim fabric that doesn’t feel itchy!  I chose the blue circus floral for the base and the orange dot for the trim.  The Ultimate Bikini Bottoms are reversible, so I used the orange dot for the opposite side as well.

5oo4 Escapade and Ultimates 2 5oo4 Escapade and Ultimates 5oo4 Escapade and Ultimates 3

The patterns I chose for the swim tour are the Escapade Bra and the Ultimate Bikini Bottoms.  The Escapade is available in sizes XXS-5XL and includes a tankini and dress option in addition to the bikini.  The Ultimates come in sizes XXS-3X and are fully reversible and have several different rise options and a skirt option.  I chose the high rise, but I’m 5’9″ and have a long torso, so it’s a little lower than my waist.  The Escapade includes steps for removable swim cups and both patterns include a maternity option. You can get ALL 5 out of 4 swim patterns for 20% off during the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Swim Tour this week!

5oo4 Polar Bear Plunge

My weekend was a little cloudy and included some thunderstorms. Thankfully, we had enough time to enjoy the hot tub that came with the rental.  The kids talked me into doing a “polar bear” plunge and then running back up to jump into the hot tub.  I HATE being cold and wet.  Like, hate hate HATE it.  So, it was a huge deal for me to jump in the lake and my husband caught this ridiculous photo of me as I was getting out!  My favorite parts about this suit are that the Escapade and the Ultimates stay in place no matter what kind of shenanigans I’m into as I chase the kids!  The Escapade is just the right balance of feminine and sporty.  I love a bikini that is good for more than just sitting by the pool! The Raspberry Creek Fabrics swim material is beautiful whether it’s wet or dry!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my post on the Raspberry Creek Swim Tour.  I hope you take the time to read the other stops on the tour! Don’t forget about our sale on all swim patterns! Get 20% off with the code RCFSWIM now through Friday, March 15th!
