Description
The Shenanigans Skort is perfect for your mom uniform. Do you chase kids all day? Sweat your buns off at the playground? Play tennis? Run? Yoga? Lounge? Watch soccer? Go to meetings? Play piano? Ride a bike? Seriously, you can DO ALL THE THINGS in this skort! Plus, you’ll be able to do MORE because this pattern is such a quick sew!
The Shenanigans Skort is intended for knit fabrics and includes a skirt with knit shorts underneath as well as:
- 3 rise heights, including a maternity option
- 3 lengths for the skirt – Sporty Spice, Safe, and Prudent
- Gusseted shorts
- Optional flounce
- Optional tennis pocket and credit card pocket
- 4 lengths for the knit shorts
- Can be worn as standalone skirt or workout shorts
We recommend knit fabrics with at least 50% stretch. The shorts need to be 4-way stretch lycra blend fabric, which means it stretches with both with the grain and perpendicular to the grain. Requirements for fabric and notions are listed in the last photo. Check out the Shenanigans Skort Bundle and the Kids’ Shenanigans Skort for matching styles.
This sewing pattern comes in sizes XXS – 5XL.

So easy to sew, great comfortable cool skort for those hot days. I love that I don’t have to worry about my grabby kids showing off anything they shouldn’t! Great options take it from sports to every day to work and church appropriate!

This skort so needed to be in my closet. It is just my style; casual, comfy, cute, and with enough options to keep me busy for a while! I love the first one I made and now want more colors! I want to make swim bottoms with it too. Awesome directions, as usual! You won’t regret this one!

I think this is my favorite pattern for ME! It is such a quick, easy sew, yet the options (and fabric choices) help you customize a skirt for so many different activities: athletic wear, swim wear, lounge wear – even date night! I made one with stretch denim and added pockets from the Zen Pants pattern, and it is perfect for a casual dinner or night at the movies with my hubby. The tutorial is easy to understand with clear instructions and great graphics – there’s even a video for the shorts gusset assembly which is very helpful if you never sewn one before. I made my daughter one first (the Girl’s Shenanigans), and I am so glad I finally made one for myself!

I LOVE this pattern! I made it during the sew-along and used leftover fabric from some ninjas I made. The skort is so comfortable and easy to move in. The only thing I wish I could figure out is how to keep it from riding up when I jog! I think my flip belt that I carry my phone in catches it, so maybe I need to add a pocket next time so I won’t need to wear the belt when jogging.

I used the Shenanigans paired with the Ninjas for the ultimate sun protection for my legs while I float down the river at our cottage. The sewing was easy to follow, and it fits perfectly as per the sizing charts. I used thicker swim fabric (men’s?) for the main and normal swim fabric for the ruffles. This means I can work and play on land without looking weird and go on a float with full protection.
I didn’t have to use my seam ripper once for this pattern – yay!

What a great pattern and outcome. I am normally don’t like to use patterns as find them quite complicated. Instead I tend to make my own. This one was so simple to follow using the step-by-step guide. Looking forward to making many more.

I am IN LOVE with this pattern!! Very well written and instructions are easy to follow. I’ve made four skorts now in the last two weeks, that’s how much I love this pattern. I’m ready to try more patterns!

Perfect skort for playing tennis. An easy and simple yet elegant skirt to pair with all the fancy tops. I created mine in supplex and it totally did the job. Easy instructions.

I used this pattern in the sporty spice length with the added ruffle to make a swim bottom to match my Alpha tankini top. The pattern and instructions are excellent and I plan to make many more.
