Day 5 is here and it’s time to show off!
Today is the final day of the Jessie Sew Along! By now you should have completed your Jessie Top, Tunic, or Dress and are ready to show it off! I finished up my sleeveless version earlier this week and immediately started on another.
This time I used the bodice of the Jessie pattern but took the split sleeves from the latest 5 out of 4 pattern Gloria!
This is a very easy modification because the armsyce of both patterns are the same so you don’t need to make any other changes.
But wait there’s more!
If you watched the fabric video from Day 2, I talked about some additional ways to have fun with the back of your Jessie. I mentioned appliques or using lace trim as straps. Well that got me to think of even more ways to have fun with this pattern and I decided to add a piece of lace to the back opening.
My lace had minimal stretch but since I was using such a small piece I took a chance and crossed my fingers that it would work. I went with the binding method for this version. I used ‘Flexi-Lace Hem Tape’ as it blends in well with the lace fabric giving it a clean finish.
Have you been inspired to mash the Jessie and Gloria patterns or do some other hacks/modifications to Jessie? Well there is still time for you to make another Jessie before the Sew Along closes on Saturday so don’t delay.
And don’t forget to share your finished projects across social media and post them as a comment in the entry thread for more chances to win!
