We love our Brand Ambassador Team and we want you to get to know them! This team is comprised of many of our “mega-fans” and they spend a lot of their time helping us promote our patterns. Each ambassador brings their own unique selves to the table and we love watching what they do. So, we wanted to take some time on the blog to highlight one ambassador every now and then. Eventually, you’ll know them all, if you don’t already.
How She Got Started
When Amy was around 10 years old her mom taught her and her sister how to sew. Her sewing skills took a backseat until her 9th grade home ec class when the class was too big and her teacher needed help with troubleshooting for the other kids. Her skills quickly came back to her and she has continued sewing since.
5 Out of 4 Experience
Amy’s favorite 5 out of 4 pattern is the Versatility. She has made more of them than she can count! As her boys keep growing and need new clothes, she keeps on sewing more for them. The added bonus is the “me time” she gets to have while she sews. One of her favorite parts about sewing for herself is getting to make clothes that fit her and her style versus changing herself to fit the sizes and styles available in stores. She loves sewing with knits, (partly because she’s not a fan of sewing zippers and button holes.) French terry rayon is her all-time favorite fabric for everything.
More About Amy
She is a stay-at-home mama to two boys (ages 5 and 2) and is currently in the process of adopting a daughter from Liberia, Africa. They live close to both sides of their family in the St. Louis MO area. Living in that area means she has all four seasons to sew for! They love their two rescue dogs, and when she’s not chasing her kids or sewing, she enjoys gardening and reading, but her favorite thing is traveling! She also likes to sew new things to wear on those vacations! She is an ambassador for Olga’s Closet so most of the fabrics she sews with come from there.
