Let’s get right to today’s patterns:
Jessie Top, tunic & Dress
When I tested this pattern I KNEW I would hate it on me. I WAS WRONG! I love the Jessie and all its fun options.
Here are the details:
You’ll love the Jessie with both your eyes and body. Beautifully fitted through the bust and waist with endless back options, this is one pattern you’ll definitely want to make yours. The low ballerina back is a fabulous template for your artistic flair – add a racerback insert, an appliqué, or get creative with your strap configurations.
Options Include:
- Top, Tunic, Short Dress, and Knee Length Dress Lengths
- 5 Sleeve Lengths: Sleeveless, Short, Elbow, 3/4, and Long
- Multiple Back Options: High, Low Ballerina, Racerback Insert, and Strappy Back
- Sizes XXS-5XL
Fabric Talk:
This pattern requires a 2-way or 4-way light to medium weight knit fabric with at least 50% horizontal stretch
and good recovery. Look for fabrics with ‘lycra’ or ‘spandex’ in the fabric content. Lighter cotton lycras, rayon
spandex, brushed poly, rayon french terry and bamboo lycra are all good choices. Any knit that meets the stretch
requirement will work, but may not give the same results. Bands and bindings require a fabric with AT LEAST
50% stretch and MUST CONTAIN at least 5% lycra/spandex for good recovery. Measurements are based on 56”
knit fabric width and in yards. Extra fabric may be required to match patterns or stripes or if you need additional
length. You may need less yardage for smaller size bodices using non-directional fabric.

Journey Tank & Dress
This is another one of those patterns with lovely back option. Making this pattern gives me so much satisfaction!
Here are the details:
It may sound like a cliché, but I believe that life is all about the journey. The minute I get comfortable with something, life seems to throw a new challenge at me. This pattern will help you get wherever you’re headed, in every stage of life. It has enough options to go on, and on, and on…and onnnn. (See what I did there?)
Here’s what’s included in the Journey Tank and Dress:
- Bikini or low-impact sports bra
- Tank or Tankini
- Knee Length Dress
- Maxi Length Dress
- Nursing Option (including a way to hide the nursing clips!)
- Maternity Option
- Sizes XXS-3XL(with plans to extend sizing in the near future)
Fabric Talk:
Each component of the dress has been broken down for you to help you . You will need each component (support
fabric and band are optional). For example, for a tank, I would need 1/2 yard of my main bra fabric, plus 1 yard
for the skirt, plus 1/4 yard of contrast fabric for bands and straps, plus 1/2 yard of power mesh etc for support in
the bra, plus 1/2 yard of lining for the bra.
If you are adding a support layer to the front, add it to the back as well as these pieces work in unison.
