Sew Pinspired: Easy Tee Dress and Nancy Raglan Hoodie

November 6, 2017 in Giveaway by Melissa

I love scouring sources for sewing inspiration, so the ‘Sew Pinspired’ contest was the perfect motivation I needed to recreate a few looks I had pinned on my fashion board. Not to mention the PRIZES!?! There are some great prizes up for grabs … fabric…patterns…a coverstitch machine! A BIG thank you to the lovely and gracious sponsors: EBS Fabrics, Jaded Threads, Sahara Fabrics, Zenith & Quasar, So Sew English!

I am sharing two looks that I created using 5oo4 patterns…

INSPIRATION 1: Adorable floral dress with funnel neck and contrast cuffs.

It took me some time to figure out how to replicate this look and ultimately decided to mash two patterns:

  • Women’s Easy Tee and Dress
  • Women’s Weekender Tunic

I think it turned out super cute!

How I did it: A-line long dress (Easy Tee), long sleeves (color blocked), crew neckline to accommodate the funnel neck piece from the Weekender Tunic (no adjustments necessary)…so simple, and so cute!

This fabric is french terry and is super soft and cozy. I will probably sew some Ninja leggings to wear under this dress for added warmth as the weather cools. (Pssst…did you know that you can get the Ninja pattern for FREE!?! There is a code in the pinned post on the 5 out of 4 Patterns FB group page).

INSPIRATION TWO: Floral Raglan Hoodie

Pattern: Nancy Raglan Top, Tunic, and Dress (gotta love the options 5oo4 includes in all the their patterns).

I LOVE this hoodie! And I really like the unique hood design!

And don’t you LOVE this fabric? It’s from So Sew English – one of our contest sponsors! It’s french terry, and I get extra snuggles from my family when I am wearing it because it’s soooooo soft!

I hope this post inspires YOU to create something special for your wardrobe…and enter the Sew Pinspired contest! You still have some time, hurry! Check out this post for the contest details, and use this link to officially enter your contest submission for opportunities to WIN!!!!

Speaking of winning – would you like to WIN a $20 So Sew English store credit? Just leave a comment on this blog post – a kind word, your favorite 5oo4 pattern, the 5oo4 pattern you want to sew up next, a link to fabric you would love to win from one of our sponsors, or even a simple I WANT TO WIN! 😉 I will pick a random winner on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

***UPDATE***Winner has been chosen.  Giveaway closed.

Happy sewing and GOOD LUCK in the contest!!!

I’ve been dying to try the Zen pants, but besides wondering if it’s above my skill level, my machine needs a tuneup before I start on any denim, (It’s been too long since I’ve had a pro tune-up, which are hard to find locally for my Elna and it’s never been a fan of layers of denim on it’s best days, not that I don’t love it, it’s the fav of all machines I’ve used or borrowed.)

Eventually, I may move on to the boardshorts which make a lot more sense for the weather here.
