Just keep Swimming

May 9, 2018 in Swim by Tasha Gray

Earlier this week we shared a roundup post of the women’s swimsuit patterns available from 5 out of 4, but don’t forget we create ‘Modern Patterns for the whole family’.  Our lineup also includes a few swim patterns for girl’s as well as a men’s swim trunks pattern.

Girls’ Agility Tank and Dress

Similar to the Women’s Agility, the Girls’ agility pattern includes a sports bra and overlay tank and dress.  It also includes both a slim fitting tank and an A-line tank and can be made with a T-back or strappy back.  Any of these options work well as a swim top.  The tank versions are great for younger or undeveloped children while the sports bra with overlay options can provide a little more support if needed.  When you are ready to make an Agility, you can find posts on the 5 out of 4 blog for the sewalong.

Riptide Reversible Shorties

The Riptide Reversible Shorties go great with Agility pattern to make an awesome 2 piece swimsuit.

The are reversible swim shorts with two rise options and has side ruching for different fits.  You can see all of the posts from the Riptide sewalong here.

The Shenanigans Skort  pattern can be made using swim fabric for both the skirt and shorts underneath.  Although it wasn’t originally intended for swimwear, it’s a great option to consider for a different look.

You also use the shorts separately to make swim bottoms for your child or make the skirt a separate as swim cover.

And speaking of swim cover, don’t forget to take a look at the Girls’ Weekender Tunic pattern.  The loose fit of the pattern and the crew neck option would be perfect as a light layer over your new swimsuit.

And we can’t leave out the men in our lives.  Last summer we released a Men’s Swim Trunks and we hear it works great for regular shorts as well.  The relaxed fit, faux fly, and optional pockets make it a great pattern to wear all summer long.

To help you get ready for your summer sewing, we are having a site-wide sale of 30% off.  Use code ‘summerscoming’ to save when you check out at 5outof4.com.  The code is good through Friday May 11.
