Josephine and Kids’ Jo Sew Along & Tutorial Day Four

Welcome to DAY FOUR! I’m so excited to be sewing up the Josephine and Kids’ Jo with you this week!

WE’LL COVER EVERY STEP AND CREATE A SUPER AWESOME SWEATSHIRT, TUNIC, OR DRESS!! 

Here’s what we’ll be doing:

Monday: Print, Assemble, & Cut

Tuesday: Kangaroo Pocket and Bodice Prep

Wednesday: Sleeves

Thursday: Necklines

Friday: Finish it up: hems, bands, etc

FIRST, LETS TALK ABOUT THE PATTERN

The patterns aren’t exact replicas of each other. However, they have a lot of similarities.  Josephine is available for women’s sizes XXS – 5XL.  The Kids’ Jo is available for sizes 0-3m through 14. The size charts are in the images above.

THE JOSEPHINE SWEATSHIRT IS A PDF SEWING PATTERN THAT INCLUDES:

  • Women’s sizes XXS – 5XL
  • Regular front bodice and Full Bust Adjustment (FBA) front bodice
  • Short or long sleeves
  • Sleeves can be hemmed or finished with a band
  • Neckline options include crewneck,  crossover high neckband, cowl, or crossover hood
  • Crop, Top, Tunic, and Dress lengths can be hemmed or finished with a band
  • 2 band lengths for tunic and dress
  • Curved hem tunic finished with facing
  • Thumbhole cuffs

THE KIDS’ JO SWEATSHIRT IS A PDF SEWING PATTERN THAT INCLUDES:

  • Kids’ sizes 0-3m – 14
  • Short or long sleeves
  • Sleeves can be hemmed or finished with a band
  • Neckline options include crewneck,  crossover high neckband, cowl, or crossover hood
  • Crop, Top, Tunic, and Dress lengths can be hemmed or finished with a band
  • Crop can be combined with a gathered skirt for a totally different style dress!
  • Thumbhole cuffs
  • Check out this YouTube video of all of our testers’ versions!

    I am somewhat confused by the written instructions vs the video tutorial with regards to quartering the hood placement. The video shows measuring the full length and quartering without regard to overlap at centre front. The instructions say to measure the quarter marks from the 3” marks which will be centre front. This is how I am reading it. Your assistance would be appreciated in clarifying. Thank you.

      Definitely go with the written instructions. I def could have made a mistake.
