Well, here we are! It’s day one of the Camilla Sew Along and we’re ready to get started!
If you don’t have the pattern, it’s not too late to jump in. Get your pattern HERE!
I’ve broken up the tutorial into five parts for each day this week.
- Day One: Print, Assemble and Cut Fabric
- Day Two: Back Neckline and Pleats
- Day Three: Shoulders, Side Seams and Pockets
- Day Four: Sleeves or No Sleeves, we’ll do them both
- Day Five: Hem and Photos
Since it’s day one, we’re Printing, Assembling and Cutting out our fabric. Make sure you reference the tutorial for pattern piece placements or any other info you need.
Before you cut your fabric make sure you check the finished measurements in the tutorial. Compare them to your personal measurements and make the appropriate adjustments.
As usual, I recommend making a muslin to see if you need to make any other adjustments in addition to length.

I would like to raise the height of the cowl 1 1/2 inches. Can I make that adjustment on the pattern before cutting my fabric? Thanks.
Jessica Pierce says
Hi Ruth! I’m going to be working on a series of blog posts to show how to do this. It’s not a super quick and straightforward answer, sorry!
